The workers, believed to be part of a pothole-repair crew and citizens of Latin American countries, were working on the bridge when the incident occurred. Search operations involving boats and helicopters have been ongoing to locate the missing individuals.

The missing workers were identified as citizens of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. Miguel Luna, a worker from El Salvador, was among those presumed dead. Suazo had been living in the US for 18 years and had a family.

The workers were employed by Brawner Builders, a local contractor that performs maintenance work on bridges in Maryland. Jeffrey Pritzker, executive vice-president of Brawner Builders, described the missing workers as “wonderful family people” who had spouses and children.

The incident has left families devastated, with loved ones anxiously waiting for news of their missing relatives. The tragic event serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by workers in such professions. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this heartbreaking event.
