ABBA Voyage Plans Vegas Strip Concerts: Sources | Kats | Entertainment

A potential ABBA concert production, “ABBA Voyage,” is rumored to be heading to the Las Vegas Strip. The show, featuring computer-generated performances of the iconic band, is reportedly set to take place at Resorts World’s former “Enchant” space. While the location has not been finalized, sources suggest it will be a custom-built facility specifically for the show.

With ABBA’s massive global success, selling over 150 million records worldwide, anticipation for “ABBA Voyage” is high. The virtual concert will feature the original ABBA lineup of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, all in their CG-generated 1979 forms. Despite the real-life members being in their 70s and not planning to return to live performances, they dedicated five weeks to recreate their iconic choreography for the show.

“ABBA Voyage” debuted in London with a production cost of $175 million, making it one of the most expensive live shows in history. Backed by a 10-piece orchestra, the avatar performers will bring classic hits like “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo,” “Fernando,” and “Thank You for the Music” to the virtual stage.

One London viewer described the show as “mind-blowing,” showcasing the enduring appeal of ABBA’s music. The concert is expected to be a limited engagement initially, with the possibility of an extension based on its reception.
