Earlier today, T-Mobile unveiled its third annual Scam and Robocall report, shedding light on the rising number of reported scam calls in 2023 and the evolving trends associated with such calls.
According to recent findings, Americans collectively fell victim to scams amounting to a staggering $10 billion in 2023, marking the highest reported losses ever recorded by the FTC. Despite ongoing efforts to combat fraudulent practices, scammers persistently adapt their strategies. T-Mobile, alongside other regulators, remains steadfast in its commitment to thwart these deceitful schemes, notably through initiatives like Scam Shield.
In light of T-Mobile’s latest data on Scam Shield, the service successfully intercepted and identified a remarkable 19.8 billion scam calls in 2023, averting the equivalent of 628 spam calls every second.
