Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey to Open New Tasting Room in Aspen
Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey, founded in 2004, is set to open a new tasting room in Aspen this winter. The company, known for its award-winning American single malt whiskies, plans to debut the Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge as a new outpost beyond its Denver location.
The company, now owned by Proximo Spirits, was co-founded by George Stranahan and Jess Graber. The two entrepreneurs started the whiskey distillery in Denver before moving to their existing location at 200 S. Kalamath St. Stranahan, a longtime Aspen resident, passed away in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of crafting exceptional whiskey.
The new location in Aspen will be taking over the former Aspen Pie Shop, where Stranahan’s is currently hiring a head chef to lead the creation of “alpine-inspired bites” from a kitchen onsite. This announcement comes as Stranahan’s joins another soon-to-open bar and restaurant at the MOLLIE Aspen hotel, further expanding its presence in the area.
With a rich history and dedication to crafting quality whiskey, Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge is poised to become an ideal environment for fans to experience the brand’s offerings and celebrate the legacy of George Stranahan and Jess Graber. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting development in the world of whiskey.
