A storm approaching the Boston area this week is expected to bring rain, wind, and possibly heavy snow to parts of Massachusetts. The latest forecast from the WBZ NEXT Weather Team provides updates on this weather system.
Over recent weekends, the weather has not been ideal for outdoor activities due to rain or colder temperatures. However, this weekend has been different, with mild temperatures and sunny skies making it quite pleasant.
Easter Sunday also saw mild temperatures in the 50s, continuing the trend of nice weather. However, a significant storm is expected to impact Massachusetts from Tuesday through early Friday.
Initially starting as rain, the system will transition to snow as it moves off the coast and strengthens. Eastern and southeast Massachusetts may see 1-2 inches of rain, while areas further west, such as Worcester and Middlesex County, may experience heavy snowfall.
The storm is also expected to bring high winds, with gusts of 40-60 mph along the coast on Wednesday night into Thursday. Despite low tides, erosion along the beaches may occur due to the windy conditions.
Looking ahead, the weather pattern is expected to change in the next 10-15 days, potentially bringing warmer temperatures. For the latest updates on the forecast, stay tuned to WBZ’s NEXT Weather Team.
