Former Martin County high school wrestling stars, Blake Jagodzinske and Jaxson Rohman, are set to compete for individual All-American honors and national championships this weekend. Jagodzinske, a junior at Augsburg University, will make his debut at the NCAA Division III Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Meanwhile, Rohman, a junior at Augustana University, will compete in the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships in Wichita, Kansas.
Rohman, seeded fourth, will face Central Missouri’s Jacob Tangpricha in the 125-pound bracket. Meanwhile, Jagodzinske will take on Ithaca’s Wenchard Pierre-Louis in the Division III 157-pound preliminaries. Both wrestlers are determined to make their mark on the national stage and bring home championship titles.
Rohman, a two-time Minnesota high school state champion, is looking to build on his success from previous years and secure another All-American accolade. Jagodzinske, on the other hand, is eager to showcase his skills and make a name for himself in the collegiate wrestling scene.
In addition to the wrestling championships, the Stewartville Tigers recently edged out the St. Peter Saints in a thrilling one-point victory during the Minnesota State High School League’s Class AAA state girls basketball quarterfinals. The game featured four lead changes and three ties, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final buzzer.
