Remedy Entertainment has had its ups and downs over the years, but the releases of Control and Alan Wake 2 have put the studio back in the spotlight. Control 2 is currently in the proof-of-concept stage of development, meaning fans will have to wait for concrete details. Remedy Entertainment is also working on remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2, as well as two multiplayer projects, including a co-op spinoff of Control.
The studio’s first title, Death Rally, was released in 1996, and it found success in the early 2000s with the original two Max Payne games. However, a lengthy hiatus and the release of the middling Alan Wake in 2010 caused Remedy to fall out of the industry’s spotlight.
With the success of Control and the release of Alan Wake 2 in 2023, Remedy Entertainment has made a strong comeback. The studio has four new games in development, including two Alan Wake 2 DLCs set for release in 2024.
Control 2, previously referred to as Codename Heron, is in the proof-of-concept stage of development, and few details are available about its progress. Remedy Entertainment is also working on remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2, which have moved into the production readiness stage. The studio’s two multiplayer projects, Condor and Kestrel, have experienced some obstacles, but are making progress in development.
Control, part of the Alan Wake universe, was released in 2019 and has received positive reception for its mysterious storyline and engaging gameplay. As Remedy Entertainment continues to make its mark in the gaming industry, fans can look forward to the release of new and exciting projects in the future.
