Sensor Technology Wins Mexico Urban Ag News Challenge with Quantified Data

Quantified Sensor Technology emerged triumphant in the start-up and scale-up challenge, a joint effort by GreenTech Americas, the Netherlands Embassy in Mexico, the Netherlands Business Support Office Querétaro, UTEQ, and AVAG. The Dutch start-up outshone 8 remarkable entries, securing the chance to exhibit their innovative and sustainable solutions for the Latin American horticulture market at GreenTech Americas. The exhibition is set to take place at the Querétaro Congress Center (QCC), Mexico, from Tuesday 12 – Thursday 14 March 2024.

The start-up challenge was organized by GreenTech Americas to promote innovation and knowledge exchange in the horticulture sector. It offers young and innovative companies from the Netherlands direct access to the Latin American horticulture market, providing brand exposure and opportunities to connect with potential investors and partners.

Quantified Sensor Technology is a wireless sensor manufacturer for the Hort- and Agricultural markets. Their sensors are affordable, easy to install and operate, and enable growers to reduce water consumption while improving yield and quality. The company serves customers in Europe, the Americas, Australia, and Africa.

Other notable entries in the challenge included Corvus Drones, Moleda, Flavour Shield, A-Grow Tech, CE Line International, FOTONIQ, and Saia Agrobotics. Each entry was judged on their level of innovation, sustainability, presentation, and suitability for the Mexican and Latin American market.

As the winner, Quantified Sensor Technology has earned a flight ticket to Mexico, a booth at the show, and the opportunity to pitch their innovation or business idea at the GreenTech Stage during one of the three days of the show.

The jury, consisting of members from the Netherlands Embassy in Mexico, NBSO, AVAG, UTEQ, and GreenTech, selected Quantified Sensor Technology for its versatility across different technological levels, affordability, sustainability, and potential for the Mexican market.

Regarding GreenTech Americas, the event is part of the GreenTech portfolio and focuses on meeting the specific needs of growers, breeders, and suppliers in Mexico and the rest of the Americas. The goal is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and success stories within the horticultural industry in this region. The show is organized by RAI Amsterdam and Informa Markets.

Looking ahead, GreenTech Amsterdam is scheduled to take place from Tuesday 11 – Thursday 13 June 2024. The exhibition serves as a global meeting place for horticultural technology professionals, with a focus on the early stages of the horticultural chain and the current challenges faced by growers. GreenTech is supported by AVAG, the industry association for the greenhouse technology sector in the Netherlands.
