The song, “Sirius” by the Alan Parsons Project, made famous by the Chicago Bulls dynasty of the 1990s, is an intro fitting for a team that finished atop the conference last year.
The group recently beat Aberdeen 41-32 and is still searching for their own scaled down version of Bulls dominance. Fallston coach Johnny Woods noted that the team is moving the ball better and showed improvement in defense and rebounding. Ayla Galloway, Fallston’s top scoring player, finished the game with 18 points and four assists.
The rest of the Cougars roster also worked out kinks after carrying an 18-13 lead into the locker room, steadily enlarging their lead during the game. Aberdeen’s aggressive backcourt tandem, Nyjah Harris and Morgan Hargrove, showed their potential, scoring 14 and five points, respectively. Both coaches expressed frustration with the officiating at times.
