Festival Celebrates Cherry Blossoms in Hot Springs and Daffodil Blooms on Wye Mountain in Arkansas

Celebrate the beauty of spring at the Wye Mountain Daffodil Festival, hosted by the Wye Mountain Community Church in Bigelow, Arkansas. Thousands of daffodils will adorn the mountaintop, offering a stunning sight for guests to enjoy. The festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, with crafters, food vendors, and the church’s soup and concession stand available. Dogs on leashes are welcome, and parking and admission are free, with donations accepted. While picking the flowers is prohibited during most of the festival, a limited quantity of daffodil bulbs will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis. In Hot Springs, the 2024 Arkansas Cherry Blossom Festival will feature Japanese culture, exhibits, performances, workshops, and a variety of activities for both adults and children. The festival will be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center, with additional events planned for the Bridge Street Entertainment District. Don’t miss the American Craft Sake Fest, featuring craft sakes from breweries in North America and Japan, as well as sumo wrestling exhibitions.

For fans of science fiction and “Star Wars,” the Museum of Discovery in Little Rock will host “Science After Dark: Return of the Eclipse,” featuring light-saber light paintings, live music, space ship testing, and more. The event will take place from 6-9 p.m. and is open to adults 21 and over.

In the world of theater, the Weekend Theater in Little Rock will present “Call Me Mara” by Phillip Hal McMath, a gripping drama set during World War II. The South Arkansas Arts Center in El Dorado will stage Mary Chase’s classic play, “Harvey.”

Music lovers can enjoy the Conway Symphony Orchestra’s performance of “Origin Stories” at the University of Central Arkansas, featuring works by Bach and Mozart. Additionally, the Justus Fine Art Gallery in Hot Springs will showcase the work of sculptor-painter Robyn Horn, painter Donnie Copeland, and painter Adrianne Deckbar.
