Bowl season is well underway and we are providing analysis of every game including game MVPs, big plays, and unique celebrations. We’ll also be keeping track of the MVP of bowl season, which Miller Moss won after throwing six touchdowns in USC’s win over Louisville in the DirecTV Holiday Bowl.
In the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, West Virginia’s win over North Carolina came as a surprise to some who had predicted West Virginia to finish last in the league. Their ninth win of the season served as redemption for head coach Neal Brown. Virginia Tech also impressed in the Military Bowl with a dominating win over Tulane, securing Pry’s first winning season as head coach. UNLV put up a good fight against Kansas, but ultimately fell in the late stages of the game. Lastly, Texas State’s big win over Rice was spearheaded by impressive defensive play and a standout performance from linebacker Brian Holloway.
In other games, Texas State secured a big win over Rice and Minnesota finished the season with a win over Bowling Green. Northwestern capped off a strong season with a win over Utah, finishing 8-5 under the leadership of first-year head coach David Braun.
