The Bishop’s School girls water polo team in La Jolla is headed for the section playoffs with the help of senior Sofia Holman. Holman, whose interests range from financial giants JP Morgan to Morgan Stanley, is leading the team’s quest for a sixth CIF San Diego Section Open Division championship this season. The finals are set for Saturday, February 17, at La Jolla High School. Holman, who takes an honors economics class, will be applying her knowledge at Brown University in the fall. As the center defender, she helps dictate the defense and orchestrate the counterattack for Bishop’s, which is seeking its 13th section championship in 14 years. Alongside a lineup including fellow youth national team member Kendall Wyer, Holman aims to drive the Knights’ success this season. As her water polo career reaches new heights, Holman continues to push herself, grow and become more self-aware, all while providing a strong example for teamwork and academic achievement.
