“Dallas Entertainment Awards Welcomes a Diverse Range of Scenes at Inaugural Event”

The Deep Ellum district in Dallas recently hosted the inaugural Dallas Entertainment Awards, a celebration of the city’s creatives and their contributions to the entertainment industry. The event was organized by Dezman “Dezi 5” Lehman, who sought to fill a void that he perceived in the local music scene. Lehman, a R&B soul singer, had noticed a lack of camaraderie and collaboration among Dallas artists, prompting him to create the awards show.

The event took place at the Latino Cultural Center and attracted a diverse crowd of musicians, songwriters, artists, designers, and podcasters. Attendees donned their best attire, reminiscent of the iconic Starck Club, a legendary New Wave club in Dallas. The awards show featured live performances, curated by local hosts and DJs, and recognized over 80 Dallas creatives with awards for their contributions to the community.

Lehman’s vision for the DEA extends beyond just an awards show; he aims to establish an “entertainment alliance” in Deep Ellum and provide resources for local artists, such as mental Health support and workshops on booking and production. He hopes to elevate the quality of Dallas’ music scene and foster a sense of unity among the city’s creatives.

Despite the success of the inaugural event, Lehman insists that the DEA is not a one-time endeavor, expressing his belief that it will continue to thrive and benefit the art and culture community in Dallas for years to come. The awards show represents a significant milestone for the Deep Ellum district and the broader Dallas entertainment industry, showcasing the city’s vibrant and diverse creative talent.
