Blue Harbor Entertainment to Release ‘Trim Season’ in the U.S.

Blue Harbor Entertainment has acquired the horror/thriller film “Trim Season” for U.S. release, with plans to debut in theaters and on VOD in June. The film’s description reads, “Emma, jobless and searching for purpose, joins a group of twenty-somethings from Los Angeles and heads up the coast to make quick cash trimming marijuana on a secluded farm in Northern California. Cut off from the rest of the world, they soon realize that the estate is harboring darker secrets than any of them could imagine, and it becomes a race against time for Emma and her friends to escape the dense woods with their lives.”

The cast includes Bethlehem Million, Jane Badler, Alexandra Essoe, Bex-Taylor Klaus, and Ally Ioannides. Vida, who has also directed the 2022 film “Vide Noir,” is thrilled that Blue Harbor is bringing this team’s work to audiences, whom she hopes resonate with the film’s themes of power, agency, friendship, and loss – as well as the stylized lens through which they sought to paint both the horrifying and the heartrending.

“Trim Season” has historical significance as it delves into the timeless themes of power, friendship, and loss through a unique lens, drawing on the experiences of young adults searching for purpose in an increasingly challenging world. The film’s creators seek to illuminate the issues of agency and empowerment, making it a relevant and engaging watch for audiences of all ages.

The film is produced by Aaron B. Koontz of Paper Street Pictures and Sean E. DeMott of Execution Style Entertainment, with Paul Holbrook of Hlbrk Ent. and Jane Badler of MeJane Productions also on the production team. Leal Naim serves as executive producer, while Cameron Burns co-produces. Koontz negotiated the deal for the acquisition.

“Trim Season” promises to be an intense and gripping experience for horror and thriller enthusiasts, offering a fresh perspective on the genre while delivering powerful performances from its talented cast. With its unique storytelling and compelling themes, audiences can look forward to an unforgettable cinematic experience when the film debuts in June.
