By leveraging three-dimensional integrated circuits, researchers aim to improve the precision, speed, and efficiency of particle sensors used in various experiments. The project intends to reduce the size of pixels and enhance timing information while consuming low power and maintaining high throughput rates. The team is also working with commercial partners to enhance manufacturing capabilities for this innovative technology.
Additionally, researchers from Fermilab and Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility are collaborating on a project to advance compact superconducting radiofrequency electron-beam accelerator technology for industrial applications. By identifying potential industrial uses and developing a technology roadmap, the project aims to integrate electron-beam technology into industrial processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. A workshop with industry partners will help identify barriers to implementation and guide the development of this technology for industrial applications.
