Warehouse fire in Anne Arundel County causes significant damage to local businesses

A two-alarm fire broke out in a warehouse in Anne Arundel County, causing extensive damage to multiple businesses. The fire originated in an unoccupied tractor supply Business located on Central Avenue in Davidsonville, impacting outdoor equipment, septic and backhoe, and tire businesses. The roof collapsed, leaving the building exposed from the outside.

Rob Wilson, owner of Mid-Atlantic Outdoor Equipment, described the devastation as “pretty bad,” with the back half of the building completely destroyed. Wilson, who has operated his business in the warehouse since 2016, expressed the challenges ahead as the winter months approach, which typically bring in the most revenue.

Fire crews worked tirelessly throughout the night to control the flames, with cleanup and investigation efforts continuing into Sunday morning. Firefighters believe the fire originated in the unoccupied tractor supply business and spread to the neighboring businesses.

Despite the significant damage, there is hope for the salvageable inventory in one of the businesses within the building. The rural location of the warehouse posed challenges for firefighters, requiring the transport of water in tankers and hoses.

Owners and employees are assessing the situation and remaining optimistic about potential solutions, whether through makeshift arrangements or finding a temporary location. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
