The recent Mind Your Business: Black Business After Hours Social held at Cool Beanz on February 29th was a resounding success and a fitting tribute to the culmination of Black History Month. The event brought together a diverse group of passionate leaders in business development from the Statesboro community, who shared invaluable insights with local business owners on how to unlock their full potential.
Kelsey Flannery, the Special Events and Social Media Coordinator at Cool Beanz, played a pivotal role in organizing the event, which showcased the burgeoning black-owned business scene in Statesboro. With expert presentations from business and financial educators, attendees gained valuable knowledge and resources to help their businesses thrive.
Collaborating with Divine Consulting Firm LLC, the event featured speakers from the Business Innovation Group of GSU, the Small Business Development Center, and the Division of Continuing & Professional Education. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about free consulting services, office spaces, digital marketing bootcamps, and business development programs available within the local community.
The evening was not just informative but also interactive, as attendees mingled, enjoyed refreshments from Divine Elegance, and participated in a BINGO game highlighting various traits of business owners present. Raffle prizes, including business headshots and financial resources from Wells Fargo and Exodus Credit Counseling, added to the excitement of the event.
Looking ahead, Cool Beanz owner David Hoyle aims to continue fostering a sense of community among business owners through monthly networking events. Future events will include a ladies’ business night, an Earth Day celebration, and a mental Health awareness social.
As Flannery notes, these events go beyond simply attracting customers to the shop—they are about building relationships and supporting the local business community. Stay tuned for upcoming networking opportunities at Cool Beanz, where connections and collaborations flourish.
