Jett Lawrence emerged victorious in Daytona Beach, Florida, beating out Eli Tomac to become only the third rider in a decade to defeat the GOAT of the track. The only other riders to have finished ahead of Tomac at Daytona in that timeframe were Justin Brayton in 2018 and Ryan Dungey in 2015.
Lawrence expressed his satisfaction with the win, stating, “It felt great. I came here for Business and I’m happy to come out with a win.” Tomac, on the other hand, noted that only first place matters to him, and that he must take more risks to achieve it.
Chase Sexton led early, but Lawrence ultimately overtook both him and Tomac to secure the top spot on the podium. Cooper Webb finished fourth in the race, marking the first time in his career that he failed to make it onto the podium at Daytona.
In the 250 division, Tom Vialle emerged as the winner after Cameron McAdoo made a minor mistake. Vialle expressed his joy at his first victory, while McAdoo reflected on the excitement of racing at Daytona. Seth Hammaker rounded out the podium, with Haiden Deegan narrowly missing out on a top-three finish.
With record attendance for three consecutive weeks, Daytona International Speedway saw its highest-ever turnout for a Supercross event. Pierce Brown completed the top five in the 250 East Main event.
Overall, it was a night of new winners and unexpected outcomes in the Monster Energy Supercross series at Daytona International Speedway.
