Travis on Feb. 24, 1836, rallying support for the courageous defenders of the Alamo with the iconic words, “Victory or Death.”
A signed letter from U.S. senator Sam Houston, dated Jan. 18, 1856, sheds light on the progress of railroads in and around Houston, offering a glimpse into the city’s early infrastructure challenges.
