Earlier this week, Kettering’s Fraze Pavilion revealed an exciting lineup of concerts for the upcoming season. The 4,300-seat outdoor music venue announced performances by Joey Fatone of NSYNC and AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys on June 15, as well as shows featuring The Beach Boys, Ludacris, Rick Springfield, Richard Marx, and Joe Bonamassa.
According to Kettering Assistant City Manager Steve Bergstresser, the city has budgeted around $2.8 million for this year’s lineup, a figure in line with previous years. The Fraze is projected to have operating costs of $6 million, although expenses have not surpassed $5 million in recent years.
In addition to the concert lineup, the city approved a budget of $80,000 for music licensing fees and allocated funds for a consultant to conduct a comprehensive study on the venue. This study will include infrastructure assessments, focus groups, and cost analysis, comparing the Fraze to other regional outdoor music venues.
The Fraze saw increased attendance and revenue in 2023, with an average of over 2,400 attendees per event. Despite operating at a loss in previous years, the venue closed the revenue/expense gap by $440,000 in 2023. Kettering aims to continue improving the Fraze’s financial performance, with a target operating loss of $300,000.
As the Fraze Pavilion prepares for another exciting season of music, concert-goers can look forward to a diverse lineup of performances in a beautiful outdoor setting. Stay tuned for more updates on upcoming shows and events at this iconic music venue.
