TD Bank has announced the launch of Tap to Pay on iPhone, offering small and micro business owners across the U.S. a secure and convenient point-of-sale (POS) experience using their mobile phone.
This new feature allows business owners to accept all types of in-person, contactless payments using their iPhone, eliminating the need for additional POS hardware. Whether setting up at a local market or running a pop-up shop, Tap to Pay on the TD Bank Mobile App enables businesses to transact and accept payments on the go directly from their mobile phone.
According to Chris Giamo, Head of Commercial Banking at TD Bank, the introduction of Tap to Pay on iPhone aligns with customer expectations and aims to provide a seamless payment experience for small businesses.
A recent survey conducted by TD revealed that more than one-third of micro business owners are facing challenges due to the lack of necessary payment devices. Jo Jagadish, Head of Corporate Products & Services at TD Bank, emphasized the shift towards contactless payment adoption and highlighted the importance of offering small businesses a flexible and convenient payment solution.
With the majority of micro business owners relying on their business as their primary source of income, Tap to Pay on iPhone meets a critical need, improving the overall customer experience and eliminating the need for costlier POS devices and software.
The integration of Tap to Pay on iPhone into the TD Bank Mobile App expands TD’s partnership with Autobooks, Inc., the Technology provider of TD Online Accounting. This latest addition to TD’s growing fleet of payment solutions aims to provide small and micro businesses with modern conveniences and more technology to enhance their POS experience.
