IMCD N.V., a global leading distribution partner and formulator of specialty chemicals and ingredients, has announced the acquisition of ResChem Technologies Pty Ltd and ResChem Trust in Australia and New Zealand. The agreement aims to strengthen IMCD’s coatings and construction Business. ResChem, established in 2007, specializes in resins, additives, and pigments for use in inks, coatings, adhesives, and construction applications.
The acquisition of ResChem is seen as a strategic move for IMCD as it complements their portfolio and enhances their technical expertise. The company’s revenue of approximately AUD 25 million (ca. EUR 15 million) in 2023 and its 15 employees make it a valuable addition to IMCD’s operations.
Frank Schneider, Global Business Group Director for Coatings & Construction, emphasized the potential for growth in the coatings industry in Australia and New Zealand and the opportunities ResChem’s portfolio presents in advancing innovative and sustainable solutions. Bruce Forder, Managing Director of ResChem Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, citing the opportunities it presents for employees and the continued high level of service for customers and suppliers.
The closing of the transaction is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2024, pending customary closing conditions.
