The Savannah Irish Festival is back with a day of entertaining and fun-filled activities

The St. Patrick’s Day season kicked off on Saturday with the annual Savannah Irish Festival at Victory North. The event featured a variety of performances, including students from St. Vincent’s Academy, the Legacy Irish Dancers, and the group Seldom Sober, who gave their final performance after forming in 2007. Pipe Sergeant Lawrence C. Kenney from Hardeeville also showcased his talent, and Tom O’Carroll shared songs and stories from Dublin on the Cultural Stage.

In addition to Entertainment, the festival included educational presentations, such as a talk by Meaghan Dwyer-Ryan, Ph.D., from the Center for Irish Research and Teaching at Georgia Southern, about The Savannah Irish Neighborhoods Project. The Savannah Gaelic Athletic Association and various vendors also had a presence at the event, offering St. Patrick’s Day shopping opportunities.
