‘Have a Heart Clinic’ to Host Free Community Health Fair

Baptist Health Louisville and the “Have a Heart Clinic” hosted a free health fair to kick off American Heart Month and promote community health. The fair offered cardiovascular screenings, including blood pressure, heart rate, and heart rhythm checks, and aimed to educate attendees on heart disease, the leading cause of death in Baptist Health’s service areas in Kentucky.

Dr. Michael Imburgia, founder of the Have a Heart Clinic, emphasized the importance of preventing heart disease, stating, “If we’re really going to make an impact, how do you prevent it from happening in the first place? And that’s the goal from today.”

The Have a Heart Clinic is a non-profit organization that provides care to Louisville’s uninsured and underinsured population. This initiative aims not only to provide access to healthcare but also to prevent health issues from arising in the first place.

It is important to note that historically, heart disease has been a leading cause of death in the United States, making initiatives like the one hosted by Baptist Health and the Have a Heart Clinic crucial in promoting community health and well-being.
