Authorities received a call through the suicide prevention hotline from a man claiming to have shot his girlfriend at Greene’s Georgia address and threatening to kill himself. Despite being alerted, officers found no cause for concern at the home. Swatting is a dangerous prank that leads authorities to believe a crime is in progress, prompting a forceful response.
This incident is not an isolated one, as Rep. Brandon Williams also reported being swatted on Christmas Day. The response from law enforcement was swift, and both incidents are currently being investigated.
