A potential perfect storm is looming for the upcoming Ravens-Rams game in Baltimore this Sunday. Heavy rain and the ongoing light rail shutdown are expected to impact game day plans for fans.
The rain is forecasted to start Sunday morning and continue into the night, with the possibility of storms and between three-quarters to one inch of precipitation expected throughout the day. A flood watch covering most of central Maryland will also be in effect from 1 p.m. into Sunday night. Fans looking to stay dry can catch the game on their local FOX network (channel 45.1 in the Baltimore area) at 1 p.m.
In addition to the weather concerns, the Maryland Transit Administration has indefinitely shut down the light rail as repairs are underway. However, express shuttles to M&T Bank Stadium will be available, along with regular buses serving as alternatives to the faulty railcars.
Express shuttle buses will operate from Glen Burnie/Cromwell and Timonium Fairgrounds stations to Camden Yards starting at 10 a.m. Sunday. After 3 p.m., the express buses will run from the Camden Yards stop back to the Glen Burnie and Timonium Fairgrounds stations. Passengers traveling to the BWI Marshall Airport stop are advised to take a designated bus bridge route toward Cromwell and transfer at North Linthicum, as no express shuttle buses will run directly to or from the airport.
Sunday’s temperatures are expected to reach a high of 60 degrees, with rain continuing into the night and wind gusts reaching nearly 30 mph. There is a possibility of mixed precipitation with minimal accumulation expected on the ground. The precipitation is anticipated to end around 10 a.m. Monday, with cloudy skies gradually becoming sunnier and a high temperature of 45 degrees.
