Latest News: Eastern Coast of Taiwan Struck by Strongest Earthquake in 25 Years

Taiwan has experienced its most powerful earthquake in 25 years, measuring 7.4 in magnitude. Reports confirm at least seven casualties, with rescuers working to free those trapped in collapsed buildings. The epicenter was located around 18km (11 miles) south of Taiwan’s Hualien city, causing massive landslides in the remote mountainous region. Tremors were felt in Taipei, with structures shaking violently. Initially, tsunami warnings were issued but later retracted. Damage assessment and repairs in the affected areas are expected to take weeks.
