Tinley Park domestic incident claims lives of mother and 3 daughters shot

Four women, identified as Majeda Kassem, 53; Halema Kassem, 25; Hanan Kassem, 24; and Zahia Kassem, 25, were tragically found shot to death inside a home in Tinley Park, Illinois on Sunday. The victims were confirmed to be a mother and her three adult daughters. Police responded to a report of the shooting in the 7400 block of West 173rd Street around 11:20 a.m. A male suspect was arrested and a weapon was recovered at the scene.

Village Manager Pat Carr stated that the shooting was the result of a domestic incident and emphasized that it was isolated to the home, assuring that there is no threat to the general public in the area. A neighbor, Charlotte Vaitkus, shared that the family living in the home consists of a husband, wife, three daughters, and two sons. She expressed shock, as she knew the family well and was unaware of any problems at home.

The historic aspects surrounding this tragedy are yet to be determined. As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of these four women and hopes for justice to be served.
